For background we’re having our rooms plastered and needed to remove the PIRs from the corners of the walls. I couldn’t reach the company who installed the system, so thought I could do this myself.
So the main alarm obviously sounded, I pulled the mains fuse and the backup battery out from the main unit and am.hoping that should be the last I hear from it until I plug power back in?
My theory being that if there’s no power to the main unit and subsequently the PIRs, the external sounder can’t receive a signal to say ‘stop tampering I’m angry at you’. Is this correct?
Or will the external alarm sound for its specified 20 minutes, shut off for an unknown period and then re-arm and re-sound again?
